Inspire – pre idea
Incrementa works closely with the Entrepreneurship Team at UCL to provide boot camps throughout the year specifically focusing on enterprise skill development. The boot camps, which are highly interactive give students the chance to work in groups to develop new ideas for existing brands. Incrementa have been running the three day boot camps for two years and so far have provided invaluable transferable skills to over 350 students from across the university.
Incrementa have designed a programme of workshops for the University of Derby which can be delivered as a week long intensive boot camp or standalone sessions. The programme is designed to take individuals through the chronological development of an idea and become launch ready.
Development and Launch
De Montfort University were looking to offer intensive start-up support to final year students and recent graduates. Incrementa developed and also deliver an interactive three day boot camp, which has been running successfully for three years. The boot camp focuses on delivering knowledge, guidance and inspiration by providing students and graduates with the key tools they will need to get their business idea off the ground. The boot camps have helped to positively impact on the self- employment figures recorded by the DLHE, recently changed to the Graduate Outcomes Survey and to identify talent for other graduate programs at the university.
Incrementa deliver a series of boot camps for the University of Lincoln’s ERDF funded Growing Graduate Enterprise Scheme. The boot camps look to support the graduate from pre-start to launch and Incrementa deliver several additional workshops as part of the boot camps which include the Business Model Canvas, Marketing and Financial Planning. The scheme has been running for two years and has successfully supported over 100 graduates to set up their own business.
Since 2017, Incrementa have been helping to support students entering the Santander Universities Awards from the University of Lincoln. Incrementa have been providing training around the Business Model Canvas and pitching skills, as well as offering one to one business advice and guidance. The success of the support speaks for itself, as the university has seen students reach the semi finals in both 2017 and 2018.
Since 2018, Incrementa have been supporting students and graduates from the University of Westminster to enter the national Santander Universities Competition. In its first year of providing support Incrementa helped a University of Westminster graduate reach the overall final of the national competition – the first time that the University of Westminster have ever had a finalist
To support international graduates on the Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur Visa at De Montfort University, Incrementa offer monthly one to one mentoring to all those graduates endorsed onto the scheme. This mentoring can often be complex as the graduates face many different challenges, however Incrementa’s professional service has seen several exciting businesses develop and grow including Luidpro an award winning product design business.
To support international graduates on the Start-up Visa at the University of Westminster Incrementa provide monthly one to one mentoring to the 10 graduates endorsed onto the scheme. Early start businesses vary from AR in shoe retail and a virtual assistant at airports to innovative, creative and sustainable clothing brands.
Incrementa have provided a series of workshops to support Leicester University’s Space Industries Accelerator. The workshops are for new business ideas supporting the space industry and focused on Business Planning, Market Research, Marketing, Financial Planning and Sales.
Incrementa has supported UCL’s Summer Accelerator program, which takes 10 advanced student or graduate business ideas and gets them investor ready. Incrementa provided mentoring to prepare the students for their investor pitch. This mentoring proved hugely successful and helped several business ideas gain investment, including Doctor Wills Sugar Free Ketchup who managed to successfully secure a £20,000 Investment.
